Sunset Health Announces Organizational Changes to Strengthen Long-Term Mission<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Yuma, AZ \u2013 [July 17, 2025]<\/strong> \u2014 Sunset Health has announced a recent organizational restructuring that has resulted in a reduction in workforce affecting approximately 35 employees across various departments.<\/p>\n

This difficult decision was made after careful consideration of how to best align the organization\u2019s structure with its strategic priorities, ensure long-term sustainability, and continue delivering high-quality care to the communities we serve. All health services and programs remain fully operational, and patients will continue to receive the same level of care and access they\u2019ve come to expect from Sunset Health.<\/p>\n

\u00a02025 Water Safety Campaign<\/h3>\n

As temperatures rise and families prepare for swim season, Sunset Health, along with other community organizations, is proud to partner with the\u00a0Greater Yuma Water Safety Alliance (GYWSA)<\/strong>\u00a0in launching the\u00a02025 Water Safety Campaign<\/strong>,\u00a0a countywide initiative focused on\u00a0preventing drownings<\/strong>\u00a0and promoting\u00a0lifesaving water safety education<\/strong>\u00a0across our region.<\/p>\n

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drowning is the\u00a0leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 1 to 4<\/strong>, and it remains a significant risk throughout Yuma County due to our desert climate and year-round access to pools, canals, and the Colorado River.\u00a0Drowning remains one of the leading causes of unintentional death among children, especially in regions like ours, where year-round access to swimming pools, irrigation canals, and the Colorado River presents both opportunity and risk. As a healthcare leader committed to preventive care, Sunset Health recognizes that water safety is not only a seasonal concern, it\u2019s a\u00a0public health priority<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Formed in 2023, the Greater Yuma Water Safety Alliance brings together municipalities, nonprofits, health organizations, and community leaders. With Sunset Health now actively engaged, the Alliance is intensifying its efforts to reach more families with the tools, training, and education they need to stay safe in and around water.<\/p>\n
